REFERENCE
Connecting your miner

Configure your miner with the appropriate network, Stratum endpoint, wallet address, and optional worker name.

Use only confirmed connection information. Public connection details will be published after operational validation.

Wallets and worker identities

Your mining wallet identifies the recipient associated with earned rewards. Worker names distinguish individual mining devices.

Worker identities help attribute submitted work without treating each device as a separate wallet.

Hashrate and accepted shares

Hashrate estimates the rate of mining work. Accepted shares are submissions that satisfy the pool's qualification requirements.

Short observation windows fluctuate more than longer windows. Accepted shares provide evidence of contributed work, not a guarantee of finding a block.

Rejected shares and vardiff

Rejected shares do not satisfy the pool's acceptance requirements. Reasons may include insufficient difficulty, duplicate submissions, stale work, or invalid submissions, depending on the implementation.

Variable difficulty adjusts share targets to produce a manageable submission rate. It does not increase the miner's physical hashing capability.

PPLNS reward accounting

Pay Per Last N Shares distributes eligible pool rewards according to qualifying work represented in the applicable reward window.

Window boundaries, pool fees, and allocation records determine the actual credited amounts. A submitted share alone is not an earned payout.

SOLO mining

SOLO mining attributes qualifying block discoveries to the associated mining identity under the configured SOLO reward rules.

Rewards depend on actual eligible discoveries, verification, maturity, and the applicable accounting policy.

Blocks and verification

A discovered block candidate is not automatically a verified chain block.

BisonPool separately reports observation, node verification, chain inclusion, and reward resolution when supported by evidence.

Rewards and payouts

Earned, available, reserved, and paid amounts represent different accounting states.

The payout threshold controls when eligible available rewards may qualify for distribution. It does not guarantee immediate payment.

Reading Evidence and Network

Evidence displays preserved observations, verification results, and accounting checks.

Network displays observed chain and node conditions. Observation timestamps matter: previously healthy infrastructure is not necessarily healthy now.

Troubleshooting mining activity

Check the selected network and reward mode, miner configuration, Stratum connectivity, worker activity, rejected-share reasons, and observation freshness.

A disconnected worker, stale observation, or temporarily low hashrate does not by itself establish a single root cause.

WHY BISONPOOL EXISTS

P.R.O.V.A.B.L.E.

OPERATING PRINCIPLES

BisonPool exists to coordinate mining work, preserve attributable evidence, account for earned rewards, and make the results understandable and independently inspectable.

PPRESERVERetain attributable mining evidence.
RRECONCILEAccount for work and earned rewards.
OOBSERVERecord what actually happens.
VVERIFYCheck claims against supporting evidence.
AATTRIBUTEIdentify the source of work and payment.
BBUILDDevelop deliberately and validate locally.
LLEARNImprove through observation and testing.
EEDIFYMake evidence useful and understandable.
